Civil Assistant Surgeon, Rangoon General Hospital, 1925-26; Assistant Medical Superintendent, Rangoon Dufferin Hospital, 1930-36; Medical Officer, School, Rangoon and Superintendent of Health Visitor Training School, Rangoon, 1936-40; Consulting Practice, Rangoon, 1936-40; Head of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Station Hospital, Rangoon, 1942-45; Medical Superintendent and Obstetrician & Gynaecologist, Rangoon Dufferin Hospital, 1946-48, Professor of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Medical College, Rangoon, 1949-59; Medical Superintendent, Rangoon Dufferin Hospital, 1949-59.

 

Special Mention

Burma’s foremost Obstetrician & Gynaecologist. First to introduce Ceasarian Section in Burma. Became well known for her research and report of amoebic vaginitis which was named May’s disease; Held the post of Lt.Col. during the CAS (B) period.Opened and ran a Women’ Hospital at Byaing-ye-o-zin, Rangoon during World WarII.

• Insertion and removal of Implant training at the National level (2013 Jan), PSI/DOH

• Formation of Task Force on Commission on Information and Accountability (COIA) for Women and
  Children and Activities to achieve MDG, 2012- 2013, (DOH/WHO) —

• Since 2010, the Ministry of Health, Myanmar is committed to the UN Secretary General’s Global
  Strategy on Women’s and Children’s Health and aims to achieve universal access to sexual and
  reproductive health, promoting reproductive rights, reducing maternal mortality and accelerating
  progress on the ICPD agenda and related MDGs. (UN Commitment) —

• Myanmar will also commit Family Planning 2020 (FP2020) aims to reach more women with
  lifesaving family planning information and access to contraceptives by the year 2020.

• —Since 2011, the Government of the Republic of Myanmar created a budget line for Reproductive
  Health Commodities including contraceptives to improve the health of mothers and children, to
